“Go into yourself and see how deep the place is from which your life flows; at its source you will find the answer to the question whether you must create.”

— Rainer Maria Rilke

“We must reclaim the word 'labor.' It means to give birth, which is creative, so reclaiming our labor is reclaiming our creativity — entering an embodied relationship with the earth.”

- Dr. Vandana Shiva

To RE-ANIMATE ourselves is to join the Free world!

“We have resorted to this very unfortunate word, "inanimate," and we imply to ourselves that stones, clouds, the ocean are inanimate, without anima, without soul, but it's all soul." — Pir Zia Inayat Khan

It's not a matter of IF collective liberation is possible but WHEN; the colonial mind has programed us to believe otherwise, but Freedom is swimming around us at all times. When we bump up against it, we feel tingles down our spines. It’s the way of life for everything parallel to humans.

The animator has an extended sense of space, an emotional awareness that reaches beyond the false border of skin. They have many non-human friends. In the cartoon world, everything is alive. In the cartoon world there is no ‘right’ way to move. There is no ‘right’ way to process or respond to the surrounding environment. In the cartoon world, every action is an experiment. In the cartoon world, you are not punished for your curiosity.

In the cartoon world, reality is fluid. Animism helps us see the world, ourselves, for what we are, un-objectifying ourselves in the process. To zoom out, to look beyond self, allowing a bit of your consciousness to leave, necessitates uncertainty and liminality. The animator sacrifices themself to come closer to the divine, Creation itself.

"A rupture in experience,
illuminating boundaries
and the means to transcend them.
And with that
comes an understanding
that we need not be
rendered inanimate,
and that empowered,
on our own two feet
we can step out
and look anew."

- Nick Sousanis, "Unflattening"
