A conversation in poetry between my Grandpa's ghost and I delivered via text and embedded in archival photographs
About
Vero always felt closest to him between his negatives and her projections. Without even knowing it, she took up all the hobbies and collections he used to have: film, writing, photography, coins, elephants. For years, Vero was almost receiving his communications, and then one day, it appears — a greeting, an email breaks through to this dimension. Larry’s invention finally works, but what will they do with it?
This project is a multimedia conversation between Vero and her grandpa, Larry. Sometimes Larry is an in-person ghost communicating the old fashioned way (objects falling, speaking through hummingbirds, a cool breeze). And sometimes he's a remote, sending emails and texts through the ether. (Either way, it’s all energy moving matter.) Though they never met in the flesh, now they talk in poetry, a language both the living and dead speak. Larry becomes Vero’s most trusted confidant. Together they scheme to merge technology and spirit.
About Grandpa Larry
On Earth, Lawrence (b. 1930) was a father, husband, artist, and the Midwest Director of the UFO Information service. He served in Korea. He made money in the Chicago Sears Tower as a radio/tv producer. Currently, he haunts his granddaughter, Vero, in hopes of collaborating.
